In its resolution, the Department of Education states that the project "will provide a valuable opportunity for integration, exchange, education, and personal development for the target population."
It also highlights the project’s "application of technologies and best practices in energy efficiency and solar energy in Uruguayan homes."
Finally, it declares that La Casa Uruguaya will contribute to the architectural, scientific, and technological development of our community with an eye toward the future."
La casa uruguaya in December of this year in the global finals of the international Solar Decathlon competition in Cali, Colombia.
The competition involves the design and construction of a self-sustaining housing unit powered by renewable solar energy with a minimal ecological footprint, which can be mass-produced, is low-cost, and innovative.
