Álvaro Barba, 52, Uruguay’s Consul General to Australia and New Zealand and a graduate of the Bachelor’s program in International Studies, explains why he chose Universidad ORT Uruguay his studies and shares his experience as a student.

The decision to choose ORT for the International Studies program was based on the university’s academic reputation, as well as its ranking among the top 500 in the world.

I was able to confirm this throughout the course, where I felt very comfortable thanks to the practicality and efficiency with which all the course requirements were met.

It feels like a university with a highly advanced administrative and academic system.

It is evident that the school’s administration has developed a highly professional academic plan, based on a thorough study and analysis of the job market’s demands in today’s world.

The faculty is top-notch and highly knowledgeable in their respective fields.

This enables graduates to enter the workforce very naturally and seamlessly. Thus, the cost-benefit analysis is met in a very satisfactory manner.

Furthermore, it provides the appropriate level of training for a career in diplomacy, which can later be supplemented with a master’s degree in international relations—a program that I had the opportunity to pursue at the Latin American Faculty of Social Sciences (FLACSO) in Argentina.

It is worth noting that the academic environment is excellent, not only from a technical and academic standpoint, but also because the university, through its social activities, fosters a sense of camaraderie and social integration, creating an atmosphere conducive to forming personal friendships among classmates.

Best regards,

Álvaro Barba
