On Monday, April 18, the welcome ceremony for the new class of graduate students at the Universidad ORT Uruguay School of Graduate Business Studies was held in a hybrid format (in-person and online).
The event, attended by graduates, faculty, and school officials, marked the first start of classes for the EPN at ORT Rambla. Participants included students in the graduate programs in Finance, Business Analytics, Human Resources, and Marketing, as well as the first cohort of students in the blended-learning Master’s in Digital Business program.

The event began with introductions by school officials and a welcome address by the dean of the School of Management and Social Sciences, Dr. Gaston J. Labadie, in which he discussed the rankings in which the various graduate programs have been rated, dual degree programs, and the school’s memberships and accreditations.
“This demonstrates our clear commitment to ensuring that our graduate programs are aligned with leading international standards, ”said Labadie, adding, “Rankings aren’t the heart of education, but they are a very important indicator of our standing in the world.”
“Our goal is for you to become responsible professionals, trained to make practical and transformative decisions regarding the execution and implementation of change and transformation within organizations and society, ”Labadie said.

Next, Mauricio Minarrieta, who earned a dual degree consisting of ORT’s Master’s in Financial Management and Florida International University’s Master of Science in Finance, shared his experience as a student at EPN and discussed how the graduate program changed the course of his career.
Professor Eduardo López de Leo read the Declaration of Academic Integrity and then led a team-building activity in which students from each graduate program created a banner featuring the principles and values of the EPN and the university.
