    Daniel Oliveri, the university’s administrator, and Enrique Topolansky, coordinator of the Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (CIE), gave presentations as part of the SUMA project—Towards Sustainable Financial Management of Universities in Latin America—which took place from January 16 to 20, 2012, at the University of Viña del Mar.

    From January 27 to 29, 2012, the “Global Game Jam Uruguay” took place at the Telecommunications Tower, with support from ANTEL and the School of Communication and Design at Universidad ORT Uruguay. The event virtually brings together thousands of video game creators from around the world through 250 venues in 46 countries, with Uruguay participating for the first time. On January 27, Carolina Cosse, President of ANTEL; Eduardo Hipogrosso, Dean of the School of Communication and Design; and Gonzalo Frasca, Professor of Video Games at the school, held a press conference in the Interactive Room of the Telecommunications Tower.

    In January 2012, the School of Management and Social Sciences and Rouen Business School in France signed an agreement establishing guidelines for the exchange of undergraduate and graduate students between the two institutions.

    Angelina de los Santos, a student in the Bachelor of Communication program, was selected by the U.S. Embassy in Uruguay to participate in the 2012 Study of the United States Institute (SUSI) for Student Leaders program, which took place in Washington, D.C., for five weeks beginning on January 4, 2012.
