  The "Video Game Lecture Series," organized by the School of Engineering and the School of Communication and Design, took place in the auditorium at the Downtown Campus.
• The First J2EE Conference was held at the ORT School of Engineering

  On December 7, the First J2EE Workshop was held at the School of Engineering, led by Assistant Professor Martín Cabrera and Engineer Alejandro Mateo.
• An ORT mathematics professor was honored by the Uruguayan Association of Engineers

  Isi Haim, Ph.D., a professor of mathematics in the School of Engineering, was honored by the Uruguayan Association of Engineers for his 50 years in the profession.

  On December 20, the School of Engineering hosted a webinar led by Dr. Bernard Widrow, an American telecommunications expert.
• A documentary by ORT graduates was broadcast on TV Ciudad

  The documentary *Someone Has to Do It*, directed by graduates Alfredo De Torres and Sebastián Mayayo, aired on December 19 on TV Ciudad.
• Graduation Ceremony at the Solís Theater

  On December 14, the School of Communication and the School of Design at Universidad ORT Uruguay their graduation ceremony at the Solís Theater.
• Dean of the School of Engineering Participated in the Presentation of CUTI Proposals

  During a workshop, the Uruguayan Chamber of Information Technology (CUTI) presented its main proposals for the development of information technology.
• Launch of the Commercial Management Technician Program

  The School of Business and Social Sciences will launch its two-year Associate Degree in Business Management program on March 28.

  On December 17, the annual ceremony for the 2004 Awards for Excellence in Teaching was held. ORT University has been presenting these awards since 1995.

  In 2005, Spanish Cooperation in Uruguay renewed the joint doctoral program in Computer Engineering Universidad ORT Uruguay the Polytechnic University of Madrid (UPM).

  Students in the Bachelor of Fashion Design program presented their final projects for the course Design and Visual Communication 2.

  In early December, the CD titled *O (The Dawn Rides the Back of a Dream) * was released, created by designer Gustavo Wojciechowski and musician Fernando Goicoechea.
