    In December 2014, the Centro Cultural España published the catalog for the Sixth Latin American Typography Biennial: Tipos Latinos 2014, which was sponsored by Universidad ORT Uruguay.

    In December 2014, Universidad ORT Uruguay accepted into the CLADEA BALAS Case Consortium (CBCC), an organization that includes, among others, EGADE at Tecnológico de Monterrey, ESADE in Spain, IAE Business School in Argentina, and INCAE Business School in Costa Rica. The CBCC’s purpose is to create a select collection of Latin American teaching cases to be published and distributed globally through the most important international case repository: the Harvard Business Publishing website.

    In December 2014, the Santillana publishing house released the book *Coexistence in Primary and Secondary Schools in Ibero-America* in Santiago, Chile. The book was edited by Dr. Joaquín Gairín, a visiting professor in the Master’s Program in Educational Management, and Aleix Barrera-Corominas, a research assistant and associate professor in the Department of Applied Pedagogy at the Autonomous University of Barcelona.

    On December 3, 2014, the “Yo hago Diseño 2014” presentation took place at the School of Communication and Design. Leading figures from the Graphic Design, Industrial Design, Multimedia and Fashion Design, and Animation and Video Games programs each gave a five-minute talk on how to turn a passion into a career.

    On December 2, 2014, the Faculty of Engineering hosted the panel discussion “The Cloud: Different Approaches to Its Management, Security, and Uses,” organized by the professional development Center and the Information Systems Audit and Control Association (ISACA). Specialists from various fields and with different perspectives addressed the management, security, and commercial aspects of the Cloud in an open and dynamic panel format, moderated by questions and discussions on the topic.

    Cecilia Custodio Ruibal, who holds a degree in Journalism, recently published "The Tabaré -Vázquez and the Construction of Power," a study on the operating mechanisms of the first president of the Frente Amplio (re-elected in November for a second term), a figure who, according to the author, "has no strong ideological base nor particular support from any faction within the FA" but "was the one who managed to bring the left to power in the capital and then at the national level."

    In December 2014, the schools held their annual Teaching Excellence Awards ceremonies. These awards are intended to recognize the quality of instruction provided by faculty members who regularly teach courses, as well as the learning achievements of their students. At each ceremony, the respective dean reviews the year’s achievements and presents the awards to the winning faculty members, who have demonstrated outstanding performance during the year and have an exceptional academic record at the faculty. The university has been presenting these awards since 1995.
