  On Thursday, February 21, the "Computer Graphics: Coding Experience" event was held at Globant Montevideo.

  Alejandro Erramún, Academic Coordinator of Animation and Video Games at the School of Communication and Design, gave a presentation at the Toulouse Lautrec School in Lima, Peru, as part of the “International Animation Festival (FIA)” organized by the school. He also held a discussion with the students in which they analyzed aspects related to the field of study and the animation and video game industry. The event took place from January 29 to 31, 2013.

  The article “Stabilized Laccases as Heterogeneous Bioelectrocatalysts” by Dr. Lorena Betancor, a researcher at the Biotechnology Laboratory of the School of Engineering, Glenn Johnson and Heather Luckarift, principal investigators at the Airbase Sciences Division of the Air Force Research Laboratory at Tyndall Air Force Base, was published in January 2013 in the journal “ChemCatChem” (Volume 5, Issue 1), published by Wiley.

  In January 2013, the Master of Business Administration (MBA) program at the School of Management and Social Sciences of Universidad ORT Uruguay international accreditation from the Association of MBAs (AMBA).
• Conference: “Confidentiality and Anonymity in the Age of Automatic Information Exchange”

  On January 29, 2013, the conference “Confidentiality and Anonymity in the Age of Automatic Information Exchange” took place at the Barradas Parque Hotel (Punta del Este), organized by the Graduate School of the Faculty of Administration and Social Sciences. Presenters included Frederico de Almeida, Esq., partner at Rolim Vitotti & Leite Campos; Eduardo O. Meloni, CPA, Tax Advisor at Torcuato Di Tella University; Roland A. Pfister, Ph.D., of TavernierTschanz; and Félix Abadi, CPA, Professor of Taxation at the School of Graduate Studies of the Faculty of Administration and Social Sciences. The speakers discussed international trends in information exchange and transparency in tax matters and analyzed the extent to which taxpayer confidentiality and anonymity can be guaranteed in an international context of automatic exchange of information among tax authorities.

  In January 2013, the Master of Business Administration (MBA) program at Universidad ORT Uruguay accreditation from the Association of MBAs (AMBA), an international authority in postgraduate management education dedicated to accrediting the quality of MBA and Doctor of Business Administration programs. To date, this organization has accredited business graduate programs at more than 200 educational institutions in 46 countries around the world.
