  The research paper “Glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase is the molecular drug target of steroid derivatives” by Cecilia Ortiz, a biotechnology professor at the School of Engineering and a research assistant at the Triponosomatic Redox Biology Laboratory at the Institut Pasteur in Montevideo, won the Best Research Work award at the 2018 Drug Discovery for Neglected Diseases International Congress.
