• Study Abroad in North Carolina: Balancing Schoolwork, Stunning Landscapes, and Harry Potter's Favorite Sport

  Learning about different cultures around the world. That was just one of the things Victoria Fernández (on the left in the photo), a 21-year-old public accounting student, took away from her study abroad program at Appalachian State University, part of the University of North Carolina (August through December 2011).
• A short film produced by the university won an award at the "9th Jewish Film Festival of Punta del Este"
  Feb. 10, 2012
  The short film "Jaime Kleist: The Enchanted Artist," produced by Universidad ORT Uruguay, won the "Best Short Film (Audience Choice)" award at the 9th Punta del Este Jewish Film Festival, which took place from February 4 to 8, 2012, at the Conrad Hotel. On February 15, the Maldonado Departmental Government and the festival organizers presented the university with a plaque of recognition for this award.
• Seminar: “Planning in Teaching”
  Feb. 2, 2012
  On February 3, 2012, the seminar “Planning in Teaching” began. Organized by the Center for Continuing Education in Higher Education (CAES), it is aimed at university faculty members. The seminar is being taught at the Institute of Education by Mirtha Ricobaldi, M.A.
