April 17, 2011At just 21 years old, he was selected to participate in the "Botín Scholarship Program for Strengthening the Civil Service in Latin America," which took place from October to December 2010 in the United States and Spain, and whose mission "is to create a network of well-educated young Latin Americans interested in serving their countries." Juan José Riva, a senior pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in International Studies, would be very interested in working for Uruguay because, in his own words: “when a society offers many opportunities, it gives us the need and the desire to give back.”

April 4, 2011Universidad ORT Uruguay selected from among eight universities in Ibero-America to participate in the program "Inter-American Relations: A Vision for the Future," which runs from April 27 to June 30. This program is organized by the Center for Latin American Studies at Georgetown University with funding from the Andean Development Corporation. It consists of ten videoconferences broadcast from Washington, D.C., at a rate of one per week, plus an in-person course.

Conference: "The European Union and the Mediterranean: What Do Europeans Want from Their Neighbors?"April 1, 2011On Friday, April 1, the Faculty of Administration and Social Sciences hosted a lecture titled "The European Union and the Mediterranean: What Do Europeans Want from Their Neighbors?" presented by Dr. Marcos Farias, a professor at the Higher Institute of Social and Political Sciences at the Technical University of Lisbon. The event was organized by the Department of International Studies.

The course is designed for construction professionals interested in updating their construction techniques through the use of panelized structures made with lightweight galvanized steel profiles.
