July 29, 2011On July 29, the graduation ceremony for the Master’s in Education and Master’s in Educational Management programs was held at the ORT Pocitos Auditorium. Twenty-nine graduates participated in the event. The ceremony was presided over by Dr. Miguel Bresciano, former Director of Student Affairs at the university, and Dr. Denise Vaillant, Academic Secretary of the Institute of Education.

July 25, 2011The School of Architecture acquired a device called Solarpathfinder to easily conduct solar radiation studies that can be used for both architectural and solar energy applications. Using digital photos processed with specialized software, the device allows users to analyze the number of hours of sunlight, exact dates, and the angles and heights of sunlight incidence on roofs, facades, and open spaces such as patios and terraces.

July 17, 2011“To gain firsthand insight into the Chinese education system.” That was the mission of the Seminar for Universities from Developing Countries, which took place from May 1 to 20 at Nanchang University in China and was attended by Andrés Bancalari, Associate Academic Coordinator of the Bachelor’s Degree in International Studies. The professor, who is a graduate of the program, noted that the ancient Far Eastern country “is making an extraordinary effort to position itself globally as a true powerhouse,” which involves developing a university system of excellence.

Shay Levert, a graduate of the Bachelor’s program in Audiovisual Communication, is directing the documentary “120” on the history of Club Atlético Peñarol, which will premiere on September 28. "I am grateful for my degree, because the education I received at ORT goes beyond the audiovisual field," says the graduate.

July 16, 2011Folding wooden benches that change color depending on how they are assembled are among the key features of "AIXA," a project by Timothy Goodman, a 29-year-old seventh-semester student in the Industrial Design program, who won first prize in the Student Category - Residential Furniture Category at Salão Design Casa Brasil 2011, Latin America’s largest product design competition. Timothy notes that the program “constantly challenges you to think and solve every problem in a different and creative way.”

"Citizen Kane," a film written, directed, produced, and starring the American Orson Welles, is considered one of the masterpieces of film history.
