  On August 14, the annual awards ceremony for the Design and Creative Writing Contest was held in the auditorium at ORT’s Pocitos Campus.
• International professor gives a lecture at ORT

  On August 27, 2003, a lecture titled "Project Cost Management" was held in the auditorium of the Downtown Campus, presented by Dr. Tzvi Raz, a professor at Tel Aviv University.
• Agreement between ORT and the Communications Services Regulatory Authority

  On August 13, a technical and scientific cooperation agreement was signed between the Communications Services Regulatory Authority (URSEC) and Universidad ORT Uruguay.
• Ph.D. in Computer Engineering at ORT

  Dr. Gastón Labadie, dean of the ORT School of Business and Social Sciences, served as a speaker at the First National Conference on Business and Management for University Students.

  On Thursday, August 21, 2003, a lecture by Dr. Efraim Sadka on "Economic Policies in Times of Recession: Lessons from Israel" was held in the auditorium of ORT's Pocitos Campus.

  On August 4, 2003, ORT Executive Director Prof. Charlotte de Grünberg laid a wreath at the memorial plaque honoring Raoul Wallenberg.

• ORT student documentary to be screened at Ibero-American film festival

  The documentary *Becky for a Day* was selected to participate in the 2nd Ibero-American Festival of University Audiovisual Creation.
• Universidad ORT Uruguay an Academic Agreement with a German University

  In August, a student exchange agreement was signed between ORT’s School of Business and Social Sciences and the Otto Beisheim School of Management.

  María Noel Terragno, a student in the Systems Analysis program at ORT, was a member of the Uruguayan women’s handball team at the 2003 Pan American Games.
