    The article “Parenting MNC networks through springboard subsidiaries: a dynamic model of evolution” by Dr. José Pla Barber, Professor in the Department of Business Administration at the University of Valencia; Prof. Cristina Villar García, Professor in the Department of Business Administration at the same university; and Dr. Luis Silva Domingo, Academic Coordinator of the Master of Business Administration (MBA) program, was presented at the “23rd National Congress of the Scientific Association of Economics and Business Administration.” The event took place from September 15 to 17, 2013, in Málaga, Spain.

    On September 23, 2013, the “Character Design” workshop for high school students took place at the School of Design within the Faculty of Communication and Design. The workshop was led by Robert Lence, a faculty member at the California Institute of the Arts (CalArts) and a visiting professor in the Bachelor’s Program in Animation and Video Games. The workshop consisted of an introduction to the basic concepts and fundamentals of animation. The activity, aimed at 10th and 11th grade students, took place as part of the “FIA’13” International Animation Festival, which was held on September 23 and 24, 2013, at the faculty.

    On September 24, 2013, the“Stop Motion”Workshop for high school students took place at the School of Communication and Design. The workshop was led by María Podestá, a professor in the Bachelor’s Program in Animation and Video Games and animator *Selkirk*, Uruguay’s first animated feature film. It consisted of an introduction to the basic concepts and fundamentals of the stop-motion animation technique. The hands-on activity, aimed at 10th and 11th graders, took place as part of the “FIA’13” International Animation Festival, held on September 23 and 24, 2013, at the faculty’s School of Design. The workshop was organized by the faculty’s Academic Coordination of Animation and Video Games.

    On September 10, 2013, the online seminar “Learning in Higher Education,” organized by the Center for the Advancement of Higher Education at the Institute of Education, began. The seminar was aimed at university faculty and was led by Mag. Liliana Jabif (pictured), a consultant for the IBE (International Bureau of Education) and IIEP (International Institute for Educational Planning) of UNESCO (United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization), Buenos Aires Regional Office. The purpose of the course was to provide practical guidance to university professors on some basic principles of student learning in higher education.
