UNIT Standard
The UNIT Standard is Waste Identification and Classification Standard 1239, introduced on June 14, 2017, and developed with the participation of 27 organizations, including Universidad ORT Uruguay. It defines the basic criteria for classifying and labeling waste: it specifies waste categories (types of waste), the colors used for each type, and best practices for implementing a classification plan. Adherence to the standard is voluntary and does not require formal certification.

Charter of the Sustainability Committee
