    On October 27, the lecture "Chandigarh: Contextual Modernity" was held at the Pocitos Auditorium. It was presented by architect Álvaro Arrese, an evaluator for Argentina’s National Commission for University Evaluation and Accreditation (CONEAU) and a member of the MERCOSUR Evaluation Committee. The event was aimed at advanced architecture students, graduates, and faculty members.

    From October 8 to November 7, the Goethe-Institut in Montevideo hosted the photography and video installation exhibition “Epilogue.” Professor Ana Solari, Student Advisor and faculty member at the School of Communication, was responsible for the texts and video installation for this exhibition.

    As part of the activities of the Center for Continuing Education in Higher Education (CAES), the Institute of Education is organizing the seminars "Learning in Higher Education," "Educational Technology in Higher Education," and "Planning in Teaching," led by Dr. Daniel Germán, Dr. Edith Litwin, and Mirtha Ricobaldi, M.A. The courses are intended for university faculty members.

    The School of Communication and Design organized the “Design on Wheels 2” contest, sponsored by the URUBIKE Center for Bicycle Research and Promotion and Océano FM, aimed at 11th and 12th grade students. The contest challenges each participant to use their creativity to design a bicycle with accessories and equipment, taking into account its various functions, such as alternative transportation, sports, exercise, recreation, and others. The winner receives a full scholarship to pursue a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Design.

    On Thursday, October 30, the lecture "Interior Design According to Alfred Fellinger" took place in the Auditorium of the School of Architecture. It was presented by Argentine interior designer Alfred Fellinger, a multiple winner of the Casa Foa Award, an annual exhibition held in Argentina that brings together the country’s most prominent figures in interior design.

    On October 20, the School of Architecture and the School of Communication and Design signed agreements with the School of Architecture, Design, and Urban Planning at the University of Buenos Aires, with the aim of establishing academic cooperation through student exchanges.

    The article "The Relationship Between Human Nature and Control Theories" by Luis Silva, Academic Coordinator of the MBA program at the School of Business and Social Sciences, has been accepted for publication in the Revista de Contabilidade, a journal published by theMaster's Program in Accounting at the School of Business and Finance of the State University of Rio de Janeiro.

    On October 29, the lecture "Agriculture and the Doha Round: What Are the Prospects for Our Continent?" was held in the Auditorium of the School of Business and Social Sciences. The lecture was presented by Chantal Blouin, a professor at the Centre for Trade Law and Policy at Carleton University in Ottawa, Canada. The event was organized by the Department of International Studies and the Canadian Embassy. The introduction was given by Isidoro Hodara, Ph.D., Professor of International Trade at the faculty.

    The Academic Coordination of Fashion Design at the School of Communication and Design is organizing the "5th professional development Seminar: Trends, Product, and Communication in Fashion," which will take place on Thursdays from October 23 to November 20 in the school's auditorium. The event is aimed at designers, communicators, and professionals in sales and marketing within the textile and fashion sectors. The speakers, from Argentina and Brazil, will address the observation of emerging trends, the relationship with everyday life, consumer demands, product value, the selection of design criteria, fashion product communication, and information for the development of the 2009 winter collections.

    On October 18, the School of Architecture welcomed 15 Chilean architecture students from the Universidad del Desarrollo, accompanied by professors Marcela Pizzi, Arch., and Roberto Saelzer, Arch. This group, along with second-semester architecture students, is participating in a one-week design workshop on “Isla de Gorriti.” This is a required course activity for students enrolled in Project 2.

    On October 2, the Auditorium of the School of Communication and Design hosted the book launch for "El Ministro y la Ballena," a novel by writer Jorge Burel, published by Editorial Fin de Siglo’s "ñ" Collection. Burel is a professor in the school’s Sports Journalism Technician program.

    On October 7, the Faculty of Architecture hosted the awards ceremony for the fourth edition of the “Design Your Room” contest, organized by the faculty with the support of Radio Disney. Students in their fifth and sixth years of high school submitted design proposals for their own spaces, with guidance from upper-level interior design students.
