    The Camino TICs program offers full scholarships for short-term courses in the field of Information and Communications Technology. The program aims to help young people who have dropped out of the formal education system continue their studies so they can later enter a field with high employment potential in the job market. The application process began on January 24 for the program starting on March 21.

    Eduardo Mangarelli, an engineer with a degree in Systems Engineering from ORT University and a professor and project advisor at the School of Engineering, has been appointed Chief Technology Officer for Microsoft Latin America, a position he will hold from Uruguay.

    On Thursday, February 24, the lecture "High-Performance Team Performance" was held at the ORT Pocitos Auditorium, presented by Herb Brown, an American NBA coach with over 40 years of experience. During the event, he shared his insights and advice on team management. The event was organized by the Graduate and Executive School of the Faculty of Administration and Social Sciences.

    On Wednesday, February 23, the conference "Transfer Pricing in Uruguay: Where Are We Headed?" was held at the Pocitos Auditorium, presented by Cra. Marcia Grostein, Coordinator of the International Taxation Commission of the General Tax Directorate (DGI); Nicolás Juan, CPA, partner in charge of the Corporate and Tax Departments at Guyer & Regules; and Felix Abadi, CPA, partner at Rueda, Abadi & Pereira. The event was organized by the School of Graduate and Executive Studies of the Faculty of Administration and Social Sciences.

    On Wednesday, February 16, the "I Do Communication" conference was held in the Communication Auditorium, led by twelve graduates of the Bachelor’s Degree in Communication. In concise 4-minute presentations, they provided current students and prospective applicants with an overview of the professional landscape in Uruguay. The event brought together journalists, advertising professionals, corporate communicators, and audiovisual specialists who have graduated from the School of Communication and Design to share their experiences, achievements, and projects.

    The School of Management and Social Sciences has published Research Paper No. 62, titled "The Impact of Totalitarianism in the 20th Century." The author is Pablo Brum, who holds a bachelor's degree in International Studies.

    On February 10, the lecture "Academia-Business Collaboration" was held in the Ibirapitá Room at the National Agency for Research and Innovation (ANII), presented by Dr. Harry Yuklea, Director of the ASPER Center for Entrepreneurs at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. The event was organized by the Graduate Studies Coordination Office of the School of Management and Social Sciences and ANII. Additionally, from February 7 to 11, Dr. Yuklea taught the course “Economics of Innovation” as part of the Master’s in Technology Business Management program.

    On April 26, the second edition of the Master’s in Technology Business Management, with a specialization in ICT, will begin, has by ANII (National Agency for Research and Innovation). The program aims to help develop a generation of business leaders in the information technology sector. Companies affiliated with Cuti are eligible for a 20% discount on tuition for their executives, employees, and affiliated consultants. Additionally, ANII is awarding three 60% scholarships and four 30% scholarships this year.

    The School of Communication and Design has launched a Music Production Technician program, which begins on March 21. This two-year program trains technicians to work in the various stages of music production: sound recording, nonlinear editing, automated mixing, and mastering; as well as the stages related to live performance production: design and calibration of amplification systems, mixing, and live sound recording.

    The School of Engineering has launched a two-year program, which begins on March 21. The program offers hands-on training in PC and network support. It provides the knowledge and skills needed to resolve user-level and network-level issues in a Microsoft platform environment.
