    On September 8, 2014, the university signed a Specific Collaboration Agreement with the EOI Foundation in Madrid, with the aim of including the Executive Master’s in Telecommunications and Information Technology Management and the Executive Master’s in Renewable Energy as international exchange options for the MBA program at Universidad ORT Uruguay.

    The papers “Case of (quite) painless dependently typed programming: fully certified merge sort in Agda” and “Model-Driven Engineering in the Heterogeneous Tool Set,” authored by faculty members of the School of Engineering, were presented at “CBSoft, the Brazilian Conference on Software: Theory and Practice: Brazilian Symposium on Programming Languages.” The event, organized by the Brazilian Computer Society, took place from September 28 to October 3, 2014, in Maceió, Brazil.

    The article "Knowledge Management Steps, Tools, Techniques, and Influencing Factors in SMEs: A Systematic Literature Review," authored by Dr. Helena Garbarino, academic coordinator of the Bachelor’s Degree in Systems, and Sebastián Ayala, lecturer in Fundamentals of Information Systems, IT-Based Service Management, and Models and Simulation at the School of Engineering, was published in September 2014 in the proceedings of the Latin American Computing Conference (CLEI 2014), edited by the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE).

    The article “Collaborative Group Intelligence: The Case of a PC Peripheral Failure,” by Prof. Agustín Courtoisie, professor of Journalistic Product Analysis and Ethics and Freedom of Expression in the School of Communication and Design, was published in September 2014 in the proceedings of the “12th Latin American Congress of Communication Researchers,” which took place from August 6 to 8, 2014, in Lima.

    The article "Formalisation in Constructive Type Theory of Stoughton's Substitution for the Lambda Calculus," by faculty members from the School of Engineering, was published in the proceedings of the 9th Logical and Semantic Frameworks, with Applications (LSFA 2014), available in *Electronic Notes in Theoretical Computer Science*. The event, organized by the University of Brasília, took place on September 8 and 9, 2014, in Brasília.

    In a place where most people speak an unfamiliar language, with letters that look like scribbles, where she eats food she’s never heard of before, using utensils she’s never held before, and moves at a different pace, with a rhythm that feels strange, María Eugenia Pérez, a graphic design graduate, had to get used to the fact that at first her name was no longer her name, but a combination of foreign symbols, until, after discovering her new city, Seoul, she embraced a new sensibility and was able to begin introducing herself with confidence to others.

    From September 15 to 19, 2014, the “40th Latin American Conference on Computer Science” took place in Montevideo, organized annually by the Latin American Center for Computer Science Studies (CLEI). The event, held at the “José Luis Massera” Multipurpose Building of the Faculty of Engineering at the University of the Republic, was jointly organized by the five universities offering computer science programs in Uruguay: the Catholic University of Uruguay, the University of the Enterprise, the University of Montevideo, Universidad ORT Uruguay the University of the Republic.

    In September 2014, the University Press of Buenos Aires (Eudeba) published the book *Tribute to Edith Litwin*, co-edited by Dr. Carina Lion, professor of Innovation and Educational Change and Final Thesis Presentation at the Institute of Education, and general director of the Center for Innovation in Technology and Pedagogy at the University of Buenos Aires (UBA). Dr. Litwin served as academic coordinator of Educational Sciences at the Institute of Education from 2002 to 2010.

    On September 16, 2014, the Faculty of Communication and Design hosted the lecture “BasketDudes: The Creation and Evolution of an F2P Game,” presented by Fernando Piquer, CEO and founder of Bitoon Games, a Spanish company specializing in the development of Free-to-Play online video games. The event took place as part of the “9th National Video Game Competition” organized by Antel, Ingenio, and Universidad ORT Uruguay.

    Dr. Ángela Cabezas, Coordinator of the Energy Sector Fund (FSE) Project and Researcher for the Lage Project (ANII’s “Alliances for Innovation” Program in collaboration with Lage y Cía) at the School of Engineering, presented two papers at the “4th International Symposium on Environmental Biotechnology and Engineering,” of which she is a co-author. The event took place from September 9 to 12, 2014, in Zacatenco, Mexico City.
