    The article “Exploring cruise ship passenger spending patterns in two Uruguayan ports of call,” co-authored by a faculty member and a graduate of the School of Business and Social Sciences, was published in April 2015 in *Current Issues in Tourism* (Volume 18, Issue 7). The journal is published by Routledge, Taylor & Francis.

    The article "Soft Skills in Scrum Teams: A Survey of the Most Valued Skills Among Product Owners and Scrum Masters," authored by faculty members and students from the School of Engineering, was accepted in April 2015 for presentation at the 27th International Conference on Software Engineering and Knowledge Engineering (SEKE 2015), organized by the Knowledge Systems Institute, International Center of Scientific Research. The conference will take place from July 6 to 8, 2015, in Pittsburgh, United States.

    The article "Dependent types for nominal terms with atom substitutions," whose authors include faculty members from the School of Engineering, was accepted on April 1, 2015, for presentation at the International Conference on Rewriting, Deduction, and Programming: 13th International Conference on Typed Lambda Calculi and Applications (TLCA 2015), which will take place July 1–3, 2015, in Warsaw, Poland.

    The article "Innovation, Firm Size, Technology Intensity, and Employment Generation: Evidence from the Uruguayan Manufacturing Sector," to which scholars from the School of Business and Social Sciences contributed, was accepted for publication in April 2015 in the peer-reviewed journal *Emerging Markets Finance and Trade*.

    On April 22, 2015, the General Secretariat of the Latin American Integration Association (ALADI), as part of the Latin America–Asia-Pacific Observatory, presented the book *Essay Contest* at its headquarters - Economic and Trade Relations between Latin America and the Asia-Pacific, which includes the essay “Trade Effects of the Chile-China FTA: A Step Toward Trade Liberalization or a Stumbling Block?” by Sebastián Gabay and Alan Mai, students in the Bachelor’s Program in International Studies.

    On April 1, 2016, a workshop titled “Using Turnitin as a Tool to Support Academic Integrity” will be held for university faculty. It is organized by the Center for Continuing Education in Higher Education (CAES) at the Institute of Education. The workshop will be led by Ana Olmedo, the institute’s academic secretary.

    The articles "Immobilized enzymatic assembly line for the synthesis of alpha hydroxy acids" and "Nanoimmobilized lipase for the synthesis of ethyl esters from vegetable oil," in which researchers from the Biotechnology department participated, were accepted in April 2015 for presentation at the 12th Biotrans 2015 conference, to be held in Vienna, Austria, from July 26 to 30, 2015.

    Dr. Santiago Matalonga, a research professor in Software Engineering, and Cecilia Nacimento, a graduate of the Bachelor’s program in Systems Engineering and a student in the Master’s program in Engineering by Research, participated, with support from the Faculty of Engineering’s Research Fund, in the 18th Ibero-American Congress on Software Engineering (CIbSE 2015), organized by Ricardo Palma University, which took place from April 22 to 24, 2015, in Lima, Peru.

    On April 23, 2015, a workshop was held at the School of Engineering on the process of developing and publishing an app for Windows 8 and Windows Phone using App Studio and Visual Studio 2013. The workshop was led by Alejandro Banzas and Gonzalo García, Technical Specialists at Microsoft Argentina and Microsoft Uruguay, respectively. The event was organized by Microsoft Uruguay and Universidad ORT Uruguay.
