Aug. 31, 2015In August 2015, the Institute of Education published the peer-reviewed academic journal *Cuadernos de Investigación Educativa* (Volume 6, Issue 1) online. This issue was indexed by Scielo Uruguay, thereby becoming part of the collection of online scientific journals in the SciELO Network—Scientific Electronic Library Online. It was also integrated into the ORT Uruguay University’s Journal and Publications System on Open Journal Systems (OJS).

Aug. 30, 2015La Facultad de Arquitectura organiza la 11º edición del concurso "Diseña tu cuarto", que cuenta con el apoyo de radio Disney. Alumnos de 5to. y 6to. año de secundaria pueden presentar hasta el 13 de agosto de 2015 a las 20 horas propuestas de diseño de su propio espacio, contando con el asesoramiento de estudiantes y graduados de Diseño de Interiores. Quien obtiene el primer premio recibe una beca total para cursar Arquitectura o Licenciatura en Diseño de Interiores, y los dos segundos premios reciben una beca del 40% para cursar una de estas carreras.

Aug. 30, 2015Starting in August 2015, Universidad ORT Uruguay the consortium of universities coordinated by the University of Łódź in Poland, which was awarded a grant under the European Union’s Erasmus+ Program to facilitate academic exchanges with that university. The first exchanges are scheduled for the semester beginning in February 2016.

Aug. 30, 2015Dr. Helena Garbarino, academic coordinator of the Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems, was appointed Vice President of Affiliations for LACAIS (Latin American Association for Information Systems) – AIS Chapter (Association for Information Systems). The appointment took place during the election of new chapter representatives at the LACAIS meeting, which was held on August 14, 2015, in Puerto Rico.

Aug. 30, 2015On August 27, 2015, the finalists for the 11th edition of the “Design Your Room” contest were announced. The contest was organized by the School of Architecture with the support of Radio Disney. They are: Florencia Estefan, from Colegio Seminario; Juan Pablo Fregosi, from the Instituto Pre Universitario de Montevideo; Maral Nerguizian, from The British Schools; Federico Salvatierra (two selected entries), from Liceo No. 1 in Paysandú; and Caroline Wells, from The British Schools. The three winners will be announced at the awards ceremony on October 1, 2015, at 7:00 p.m. at the faculty (Bvar. España 2633).

Aug. 30, 2015A total of 60 students from universities abroad will be spending a semester at the university starting in August 2015. They come from universities in Germany, Belgium, Chile, Spain, the United States, Finland, France, Italy, Mexico, and the United Kingdom. Meanwhile, 72 students from the university are spending a semester abroad. They are participating through student exchange agreements and special programs for international students.

Aug. 29, 2015From July 28 to August 4, 2015, the “Nomadic Furniture Design 2015” exhibition was held on the Downtown Campus. It featured furniture prototypes created by students in the Industrial Design 3 – Production Feasibility course of the Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Design, under the guidance of professors DI Maximiliano Izzi and DI Pablo D’Angelo. This exhibition was supported by MOD – online designer furniture.
