    ORT University won the "6th University Sports Tournament" for the sixth consecutive year; the event was held in the city of Colonia from April 24 to 26. The event was organized by the University of Montevideo. Teams from the Catholic University, the University of Montevideo, ORT University, the Schools of Architecture and Engineering at the University of the Republic, Crandon Universitario, the Military Academy, Lasaye Hockey Club, and Old Christian Colonia participated.

    On April 23, the seminar titled “What Are the Key Management Skills in Today’s Business Environment?” took place in the auditorium of the School of Management and Social Sciences. The event was led by Carlos Casares, a professor of family business at the school and a consultant in the field of business strategy. This event, organized by the Center for Executive Education, was aimed at participants in programme Management Development (PMD).

    On April 27, the lecture "From University to Nasdaq: The Mercado Libre Case" was held in the Engineering School Auditorium. The speaker was Constanza Abdala, Head of MercadoLibre.com’s Uruguay operations. The event was organized by the School of Technology within the Engineering School.

    On April 22, the lecture "The Republic's Foreign Service: Its Evolution and Missions" took place in the Auditorium of the School of Management and Social Sciences. It was presented by Ambassador Nelson Fernández (pictured), Director General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and Ambassador Alvaro Moerzinger, Director of the Artigas Institute of the Foreign Service. The event was organized by the Department of International Studies.

    On April 16, the lecture "IP Telephony and the Asterisk Revolution: Understanding the Scope of the Technology" was held in the Engineering School Auditorium. The lecture was presented by Fabricio Pantano, Product Manager at Commlogik Argentina. The event was organized by the School of Technology.

    The School of Engineering is organizing the “Robotics Applied to Secondary Education” (RAES) project with support from the National Agency for Research and Innovation (ANII), Microsoft Uruguay, and the CTC Institute of Technology. All secondary schools in the country whose graduates are eligible to pursue university studies in engineering are invited to participate in this activity. The goal is to promote new technologies among young people through group work on the LEGO Mindstorms NXT robotics development platform. Activities will take place in Montevideo, Maldonado, and Paysandú.

The lecture was presented by Dr. Renato Bertani, who holds a PhD in Geology from the University of Illinois and serves as President and CEO of Thompson & Knight Global Energy Services

The event was organized by the Institute of Education.
