AMBA Accreditation
The Master of Business Administration (MBA) program was accredited again in February 2021 by AMBA, one of the world’s most prestigious accrediting bodies.
This distinction places our MBA among the top 6% of accredited master’s programs worldwide.
MERCOSUR Accreditation

Systems Engineering
In December 2022, the Systems Engineering program received ARCU-SUR accreditation, a seal of quality and recognition of its academic excellence.
This is the program’s first accreditation, earned after voluntarily participating in the first available application round.

Architecture
In December 2022, the Architecture program was accredited— for the third consecutive time—under the ARCU-SUR system for a maximum term of six years.
The accreditation was formally awarded by the Ministry of Education and Culture on June 28, 2023.

Economics
In December 2021, the Bachelor’s in Economics at Universidad ORT Uruguay earned ARCU-SUR accreditation. It is the first Economics program in Uruguay to receive this distinction.

Electronics Engineering & Telecommunications Engineering
In June 2019, the Faculty of Engineering received updated accreditation plaques for its Electronics Engineering and Telecommunications Engineering programs, along with an extension of their recognition until 2025.
Both programs had previously been accredited in May 2011 for the maximum period of six years.

According to the 2023 ICT Education Report, ORT accounts for 46% of technical education enrolments, 24% of undergraduate enrolments, and 22% of postgraduate enrolments in Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) nationwide.

The study Uruguay: Talent Report for the IT Sector, conducted jointly by the IT Observatory of the Uruguayan Chamber of Information Technology (CUTI) and Microsoft, found that ORT graduates represent a large share of the country’s IT-specialized professionals.

THE Impact Rankings
In 2025, ORT was once again included in The Impact Rankings, the global ranking by the British magazine Times Higher Education that measures how universities contribute to sustainable development.

Buildner Ranking
ORT’s School of Architecture holds the highest position in Uruguay in the Buildner ranking, an organization that hosts global architecture competitions. It is also the only private institution in Uruguay included in the ranking, which in its latest edition (2024) listed the 685 most promising architecture schools in the world.

Universidad ORT Uruguay remains the only Uruguayan institution featured in the 2025 edition of the World University Rankings by Times Higher Education (THE). In the Latin America University Rankings 2024, ORT was recognized for the fifth consecutive year.

Eng. Eduardo Mangarelli, Dean of the School of Engineering, and Lic. Enrique Topolansky, Director of ORT’s Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship, were included in the Merco 2023–2024 ranking of the 100 most reputable business leaders in Uruguay, released in November 2024.

2019 Survey: Profile of University Students (PRO Universitarios)
This study, conducted by PRO Universitarios with data collected and analysed by Grupo Radar, is based on an online survey of students from the University of the Republic (Udelar) and private universities in Uruguay. Fieldwork was carried out between October 24 and November 10, 2019.

With a score of 74 out of 100, Universidad ORT Uruguay was rated as the private university with the best public image in the country, according to a study conducted by Factum and published on May 21, 2018.
