International Exams

Universidad ORT Uruguay one of the centers authorized by the Instituto Cervantes and the Japan Foundation to administer international Spanish and Japanese language exams.

International Spanish Language Assessment Service (SIELE)

SIELE

It is sponsored by the Instituto Cervantes, the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM), the University of Salamanca, and the University of Buenos Aires.

It certifies proficiency in Spanish using technology.

It is aimed at students and professionals from all over the world.

It consists of four sections that can be taken individually or together: reading comprehension, listening comprehension, written expression and interaction, and oral expression and interaction.

The exams are designed in accordance with the guidelines of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages and cover all levels.

 

Diploma in Spanish as a Foreign Language (DELE)

DELEThe DELE certificates were created by the Spanish Ministry of Education in 1988.

These are official certificates that attest to a person’s level of proficiency and mastery of the Spanish language, issued by the Instituto Cervantes on behalf of Spain’s Ministry of Education, Culture, and Sport.

The DELE takes into account all variants of Spanish and considers them equally valid.

The exams are designed in accordance with the guidelines of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages and cover all levels. 

 

Official HSK Exam

Hanban

The Mandarin Chinese course offered at Universidad ORT Uruguay will prepare Universidad ORT Uruguay for all aspects of Level 1 of the official HSK exam.

This is the only official, internationally recognized exam designed for non-native speakers of Chinese who are learning the language for academic, professional, or communication purposes.

The program is organized by the Chinese National Office for Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language ( Hanban), in close collaboration with Beijing Foreign Studies University. The exams are administered in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

 

Exams Administered by the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs

Exams administered by the French Ministry of the InteriorThe Alliance Française of Montevideo It is the official center in Uruguay for certification preparation, as well as the accredited testing site for internationally recognized exams.

The diplomas awarded by the French Ministry of Education and administered by the International Center for Educational Studies (CIEP-Sèvres) certify the levels of knowledge, proficiency, and command of French among non-native speakers.

 

 

 

JLPT Japanese Language Proficiency Test

Japanese Language Proficiency TestThe JLPT is a exam which is designed to assess proficiency in the Japanese language among non-Japanese citizens. The exam is offered at five levels: N5 is for beginners, and N1 is the highest level.

Those who pass the JLPT N1 receive 15 points under the Preferential Treatment System for Highly Qualified Foreign Professionals
.

It is also useful for securing jobs at Japanese companies and scholarships at Japanese universities.



 

German Exams 

Goethe-Institut

The Goethe-Institut’s German exams correspond to the levels of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages: from level A1 for beginners up to C2, the highest language level.

All exams are also open to candidates who are not enrolled students, provided they have the required language proficiency. However, attendance at a preparation course is recommended. In addition to in-person courses and distance learning courses, a combination of both is also offered.

 

Celpe-Bras Portuguese Exams

Celpe-BrasCelpe-Bras is a standardized Portuguese language test developed by the Brazilian Ministry of Education, which is required by many universities for admission to undergraduate and graduate programs in Brazil.

Performance is evaluated on four levels:

1) Intermediate
2) Upper Intermediate
3) Advanced
4) Upper Advanced

 

Test of Proficiency in Korean (TOPIK)

TOPIKIt is a Korean language proficiency test offered up to five times a year in Korea and twice a year outside of Korea for students of Korean in other countries.

It is designed for non-native Korean speakers, Koreans living outside of Korea, those interested in attending a Korean university, or those who wish to work for a Korean company anywhere in the world.

In the region, the exam is available in: Paraguay, Argentina, Mexico, Brazil, Ecuador, Peru, Chile, Colombia, and Venezuela.

 

Italian Language Certificates (CELI)

CELIThe Italian Cultural Institute in Montevideo (IIC) is the authorized testing center for the international Italian language exams administered by the University for Foreigners of Perugia.

The exams are held twice a year: in June and November. There are six levels: CELI Impatto (A1 level for beginners), CELI 1 (A2 level), CELI 2 (B1 level), CELI 3 (B2 level), CELI 4 (C1 level), and CELI 5 (C2 level).

No academic credentials are required to take the CELI, nor do you need to be an IIC student. However, the IIC offers a 3-month preparation course for Levels 3, 4, and 5.

The IIC also offers the DILS-PG exam, a certification specifically for Italian language teachers.
