• Industrial Design Student Receives Honorable Mention at the "Salão Design Movelsul 2012"

  The "Justa" table by Timothy Goodman, a student in the Bachelor of Industrial Design program, received an Honorable Mention in the Student Division—Living Room Furniture Category at "Salão Design Movelsul 2012," the largest product design competition in Latin America. The exhibition and awards ceremony took place at the Bento Gonçalves Event Park (Rio Grande do Sul) from March 26 to 30, 2012, concurrently with the "Feria Movelsul 2012."
• Fonts created by a teacher have been added to Google Web Fonts

  The "Económica" and "Chau Philomene One" typefaces, created by Vicente Lamónaca, a professor of typography in the Graphic Design program, were acquired by Google for its library of web fonts. They are the first Uruguayan typefaces to be included on this platform. The fonts are available free of charge for use in web design.
• Works by teachers and students were selected for the "Movelsul 2012" exhibition

  The “Camabas” product by DI Maximilano Izzi, an instructor for the Industrial Design 3 – Feasibility course in the Industrial Design Bachelor’s program, was selected for the “Movelsul 2012” exhibition in the Professional division under the “Bedroom Furniture” category.  Meanwhile, the product “Mesa Justa” by Timothy Goodman, a student in the bachelor’s program, was chosen in the “Student” category under the “Living Room” section. Movelsul, the largest product design competition in Latin America, took place from March 26 to 30, 2012, in the city of Bento Gonçalves, Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil.
