Dec. 28, 2011Pedidos Ya!, a startup founded by Álvaro García, a graduate with a Bachelor’s degree in Systems; Ariel Burschtin, a graduate with a degree in Systems Engineering; and Ruben Sosenke, a graduate with a degree in Information Technology Analysis, has closed a new round of funding led by Kaszek Ventures, the leading Latin American venture capital firm that invests in high-impact entrepreneurs in the technology sector. It was also one of two Uruguayan companies selected in early December by the Endeavor International Entrepreneur Selection Panel (formerly the Endeavor Promises Program) to help boost its success. Dec. 5, 2011Matilde Martí, a graduate of the Bachelor’s Program in Journalism and Head of Content for the “In Situ” website of the School of Communication and Design, won the print/digital media category of the “Historias del Ceibal” contest organized by Plan Ceibal as part of the Rayuela Project, with support from the IDB (Inter-American Development Bank). She was awarded the prize for her proposal to document the “Aurora Project.”
