    A project on distance learning for adult educators in various regions of Peru with Internet access, led by Mónica Stillo, a professor of Contemporary Thought in the Bachelor’s Program in Communication at the University of Corrientes, was selected in April 2013 by the “ICT for Pedagogical Development” program for e-learning projects run by the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency ( SIDA), Life Academy, and Stockholm University. The program aims to provide training in the management of pedagogical development and ICT projects. The training will take place from May 21 to June 13, 2013, in the cities of Karlstad and Stockholm (Sweden).

    María Beatriz Fernández Cordano, a graduate of the Bachelor’s Degree in Graphic Design and instructor of “Persuasive Design 1” in the program, won first prize in the “2013 National Crafts Award Poster Contest” organized by the National Directorate of Crafts, Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises. Second prize was awarded to Juan Pablo Landarín, a student in the Bachelor’s Degree in Advertising Communication.

     PedidosYa, a startup pre-incubated by the CIE (Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship), was recognized at the Inter-American Development Bank’s (IDB) “Innovatic Awards” in the category of “most innovative use of e-commerce.” The awards ceremony took place on April 4, 2013, at the Radisson Montevideo hotel. The event was held on the eve of the “IV Ministerial Conference on the Information Society in Latin America and the Caribbean,” organized by ECLAC (Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean) and AGESIC (Agency for E-Government and the Information Society).

    Paula Gallotti, an engineer and student in the Master’s program in Technology Business Management who holds a degree in Systems Engineering, was selected in April 2013 by the Women’s Mentoring Partnership to spend a month working at Juniper Networks (California), a Silicon Valley company, with the aim of developing her leadership skills.

    Rodrigo Couto, a student in the Bachelor’s program in Animation and Video Games, created a commercial to raise awareness about the daily life of a deaf person when interacting with television, as part of the Advertising Language course. The assignment was to create a viral video. The video was posted on YouTube and shared by more than 17,000 people in the first week.
