• A professor was elected to the Scientific Committee of the journal "Ingeniería Solidaria"

  Dr. Gerardo Matturro, a research professor of Software Engineering at the School of Engineering, was appointed on June 13, 2013, as a member of the Scientific Committee of the journal *Ingeniería Solidaria*, published by the School of Engineering at the Cooperative University of Colombia.

  Nicolás Juan, Ph.D., Full Professor of Taxation in the School of Management and Social Sciences, is the new Chair of the Board of Directors of the Uruguayan Institute of Tax Studies.

  On June 25, 2013, a special screening of the new Disney-Pixar film and the awards ceremony for the “Create Your Monster” contest took place at the Movie 3D Punta Carretas theater. Both events were organized byUniversidad ORT Uruguay RBS.
• A startup supported by the CIE won first prize in the BBVA Open Talent & Red Innova Competition

  Paganza, a startup supported by the CIE (Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship), won first prize in the “New Banking” category of the BBVA Open Talent & Red Innova Competition on June 28, 2013. This startup is led by Marcelo Lanfranconi, a systems engineer from Universidad ORT Uruguay Leonardo Vernazza, a computer engineer from the University of the Republic.
• Graduate Receives Scholarship from the International Graduate Scholarship Program

  María Eugenia Pérez Burger, a graduate of the Bachelor of Graphic Design program, was awarded one of the two scholarships for Uruguay under the 2013 call for applications for the Korea Graduate Scholarship Program (KGSP), launched by the government of the Republic of Korea.
