As Vice Rector for Management and Institutional Development, Eng. Eduardo Hipogrosso oversees the areas of academic management, strategic planning, IT services, educational technologies, corporate relations, and institutional communications.
In 1992, he was appointed Dean of the School of Advanced Studies in Communication and, two years later, led the creation of the School of Communication and Design.
Previously, he served as Academic Secretary of the School of Technology within the School of Engineering.
He has been a driving force behind several publications, including the academic journal Inmediaciones de la Comunicación. Moreover, he has played a key role in the launch of every degree program created by the School of Communication and Design up to the time he assumed his current role. His expertise lies in educational engineering and in managing educational processes and academic development.
Since the founding of the School of Communication and Design, he has developed numerous international cooperation agreements and academic partnerships.
Since 2011, he has served on the Honorary Committee of the annual Schools of Design gathering held in Buenos Aires.
Eng. Hipogrosso holds a Systems Engineering degree and has completed the Program for Management Development (PMD) offered jointly by ESADE, Spain, and Universidad ORT Uruguay.
He was President of the Interactive Advertising Bureau (IAB Uruguay) and served on its board from its creation until 2022.
He also headed the IT Audit Department at Coopers & Lybrand and was President of the Uruguayan chapter of the Information Systems and Control Association.
