• Universidad ORT Uruguay in the 2019 Survey: Profile of the College Student

  The study was conducted by PRO Universitarios using data collected and analyzed by the polling firm Grupo Radar. The results are based on an online survey of students at the University of the Republic (Udelar) and private universities in Uruguay. The fieldwork was conducted between October 24 and November 10, 2019.

  In addition, thanks to the ongoing sorting efforts at our university, in 2019 we donated 4,835 notebooks, 500 reams of A4 paper, 17,280 rolls of toilet paper, and 1,905 sheets of recycled cardstock to public schools.

• A graduate and professor has been appointed Consul General of Uruguay in Chicago

  Matías Eustathiou, a graduate of the Bachelor’s program in International Studies and a faculty member in the Department of International Studies at the School of Management and Social Sciences, has been appointed Consul General of Uruguay in Chicago, United States. He will assume the position on December 5, 2019.
• ORT teams rank in the top 10% of Latin American participants in the International Programming Contest

  The competition was held simultaneously across Latin America on November 9, 2019, at venues in Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Cuba, El Salvador, Mexico, Peru, the Dominican Republic, and Venezuela.
• Coordinator Receives Babson College Scholarship for Entrepreneurs

  The scholarship, offered by Banco Santander, enabled 30 educational leaders from around the world to receive training in critical thinking related to entrepreneurship, with the aim of enhancing the development and impact of teaching and learning programs within the university entrepreneurial ecosystem.
• A graduate has been appointed executive director of Digital Transformation and Innovation at Petrobras

  Nicolás Simone, who holds a degree in Systems Engineering from ORT, was recently appointed Executive Director of Digital Transformation and Innovation at Petrobras. He explains that the drive to constantly challenge the status quo—one of the key lessons he took away from college—has led him to spearhead innovation at every stage of his career.
