  Dr. Juan Manuel Rivero Godoy, professor of Public International Law at the School of Administration and Social Sciences at Universidad ORT Uruguay, was elected secretary of the Mercosur Permanent Review Tribunal for the term from January 1, 2020, to December 31, 2021.

• Lazo: The Uruguayan Winner at Salão Design

  The only international entry among the fourteen winners of the Salão Design was Lazo, a shelf unit created by the Uruguayan studio Sámago. Clarisa Bielawski—one of the studio’s members—spoke about its simple design, versatility, and fluidity. Lazo will be on display, along with the other award-winning products, in mid-March in Bento Gonçalves, Brazil.
